Can your furniture be used outdoors?

Frequently asked questions – In general, our furniture is not recommended for use outdoors. This is especially the case for installations where furniture is needed around swimming pools or exposed to the elements constantly. With special finish treatments and proper cushion fill, our items can be used outdoors but should not be left outdoors. It is always important to notify us at the time of order regarding outdoor use. There is an additional charge fir exterior finishes and special cushion fill.

Can your furniture be painted or stained dark colors?

 With few exceptions, most of our pieces can be stained or painted in a variety of colors. We offer a standard range of stain colors, but you are not limited to them. Custom color stains and paint can be used to finish our furniture. There is a charge for any finish other than our natural product color with clear sealer and varnish.

Will paint chip off?

 Because paint literally lays on top of the surface, unlike stain which is absorbed a painted finish will show signs of wear and tear more likely than stained finishes. The is especially true of surfaces that  receive a great deal of use, like desk or tables. In these instance we recommend a glass top.

Are your pieces available in different dimensions?

 Custom dimensions are always available on the majority of our pieces. It is often required that a sketch be submitted for price quotation of custom design and dimensions are being specified.

Do you repair old wicker and rattan pieces?

 We can restore most wicker, can and rattan pieces, even pieces that were not manufactured by our company. All repair work is evaluated on an individual basis.

Where do make your pieces?

  Since 1903, Bielecky Brothers, Inc. has been manufacturing wicker, can rattan furniture in Woodside, Queens, New York.

What is the proper maintenance for your products?

 Dusting with a clean cloth or vacuuming with a brush attachment is all that is necessary for general maintenance and cleaning. Using commercial polishes is not recommended. For very soiled pieces, a solution of water and a mild liquid detergent (Ivory, Murphy’s Oil soap) can be used to clean any affected areas. Be sure to dry thoroughly with a cloth after washing. In extreme cases it may be necessary to return the piece to our factory for sanding a refinishing.

How long does it take to complete an order?

  1. Depending on quantity being ordered, custom specifications and available stock, our orders are generally complete on six to eight weeks.

What cushion fill do you use?

  1.  A combination of feather and polyurethane is used in general upholstery. Customers can specially a particular cushion fill . For outdoor use a synthetic fill is recommended.

What is the difference between wicker, rattan and cane?

  1.  Wicker is the art of weaving and does not indicated any one particular product or material. Wicker pieces can be made of straw, reed, sea grass and various man made products. If a piece of furniture is woven and “looks like a basket,” then it is wicker. Rattan is a tropical vine that grows in the forest of Southeast Asia. Rattan furniture generally is manufactures with pole like elements, bounded together with cane. Cane is the outer skin of the rattan pole, a flat material about he width of a pencil.

Do you have bamboo pieces?

  1.  Bielecky Brothers, Inc. does not use bamboo at all. Bamboo is a grass with a hollow core. It dries out quickly and tends to split and crack over a short period of time. Rattan is solid and is a stronger material.

Should wicker furniture be hosed down periodically?

The procedure of washing the pieces is not recommended at all. Our furniture is sealed and then complete with several coats of clear finish, rinsing it down will just damage the topcoats. Dusting with a clean cloth or vacuuming with a brush attachment is all that is necessary for general maintenance and cleaning. Using commercial polishes is not recommended. Do you carry fabrics?

 Bielecky Brothers, Inc. does not sell fabrics. All of our upholstered pieces are in “c.o.m” Customer’s own material. When placing order we will inform you of required yardage or you may e-mail us.

Do you make rockers?

 Most of our occasional chairs and lounge chairs and be converted into a rocking chair.

Do you offer some type of guarantee or warrantee?

 Bielecky Brother, Inc. has been manufacturing fruitier for over 100 years and our reputation for standing behind our products speaks for itself. If damage or defects are evident within any reasonable amount of time, then we will repair or replace your item at no charge to you. We are not responsible for damage accrued during shipping, neglect, misuse or simple wear tear over a period of time.

Can you make costume pieces based on original architect or designer drawings?

  Yes, we have quite a bit of experience in duplicating antique pieces and in fabricating pieces of original designs. Do not hesitate to contact use for any detailed furniture needs or new and unique concepts. Call for quotes.

Can I cancel or change an order?

 Terms of Sale:
A 50% deposit is required with placement of order. If prior arrangements are made regarding credit, balance is due before delivery.

Upon receipt of order with deposit, it is understood that the order as entered is correct and changes may be made with the consent of Bielecky Brothers, Inc.. Cancellations of confirmed orders will result in a 25% restocking charge plus cost of handling incurred by Bielecky Brothers Inc. on Behalf of customer. No change or cancellation will be accepted on custom size pieces or finishes after confirmation of order.

What are the terms of shipping and delivery?

  Price quotes do not include delivery or packing charges. Payment of all freight charges shall be the responsibility of the customer. Unless otherwise instructed by the customer, shipping will be scheduled by the best carrier in the opinion of Bielecky Brothers, Inc. Acceptance by the carrier constitutes delivery and any claim for damages should be directed to the carrier. Packing or crafting charges will be assessed and billed when applicable. Delivery dates quoted are approximately and cannot be guaranteed. We can assist you with shipping arrangements to any point within the continental United Stated. We don not handle overseas and international shipping details.
